Product Description

Natural Appetite Control (Stimulant Free)90 softgelsItem Catalog Number: 891According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an astonishing two of every three American adults are overweight. Simply put, being overweight poses grave health risks for aging adults. Excess fat can unleash a cascade of pathological effects in the body, damaging every cell and organ system while increasing the risk of age-related health problems.A recently published study in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that overweight adults who followed a program of modest caloric restriction achieved significant reductions in body fat mass in just six months, while improving the ability of cells to normally utilize insulin.1A natural plant extract discovered in Europe has been found to dramatically suppress appetite without stimulatory effects. Extracted from the nuts of the Korean pine, (Pinus koraiensis), pinolenic acid stimulates the release of two of the body's most powerful hunger suppressing hormones: CCK (cholecystokinin) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1).*2 This not only helps the body digest fats better, but also sends a feeling of satiety or ''fullness'' to the brain, decreasing the desire to eat and helping to control excessive calorie intake.*Life Extension's Natural Appetite Control formula was developed for adults seeking to lower their calorie intake and maintain a successful, long term weight management program. Each softgel of Natural Appetite Control provides 1000 mg of a standardized extract of Korean pine nuts containing the highest concentration of pinolenic acid found in any pine nut species. This supplement should be taken in conjunction with a healthy diet and regular exercise program. Results may vary.References1. JAMA. 2006 Apr 5;295(13):1539-48.2.  "Did not work!" 2009-12-03

I took these for about 2 weeks and felt absolutely no change in my appetite. Didn't lose a pound!

This product does not take the hunger away nor does it help me eat less. I will give it another try though. Maybe i wasnt trying hard enough.

 "No perceivable effect" 2008-01-28

I see no perceivable effect. Pine oil is apparently great for reducing blood pressure, maybe that's will end up being utility of the pills.

After lucking upon info about pinolenic acid (thank you Health Ranger Mike Adams!), I did a good bit of research on it. I'd read that PA can work to suppress appetite, and I know from having lost 30-40 pounds four years ago that what I needed more than anything was an appetite suppressant. Some of that weight came back (I have hypothyroidism), so I had to find a way to take care of it, because, as we all know, it really is unhealthy to carry around even 20 lbs. of extra weight, not to mention demoralizing. I have, so far, found this product to be quite effective at either eliminating my appetite or at curtailing my eating when I *do* decide to eat.

I take one early in the morning, and have no appetite until noon. I take 1-2 more later in the day, and once again it knocks my appetite right out, to the point that I forget to eat until later. When I do eat, I get full quickly and don't really desire bad food. I do drink lots of water, though, but I have always done that. I also eat far fewer carbs, a lot of vegetables, lean meat, and no sugar...So, right now, I am eating really healthy stuff and don't feel deprived at all. I just pray that this continues...I honestly don't even think about food that much.

One more product that knocks out my appetite and perks me right up is Alive! Whole Foods Energizer supplement (in the little packets that you stir into water) by Nature's Way. I don't know if it's the massive B vitamins in that product or the spirulina, but that stuff is genius when it comes to making me feel better and controlling my appetite.

So, both of these products seem to be helping me. But I started taking pinolenic acid two weeks after I had begun taking the Alive! supplements, and I am finding it to be the most effective of all.

I am writing this review to help others, since I was unable to find many reviews by real people when I started my research. I wouldn't tell you the above if it weren't true...I am in no way associated with any of these companies; I would just like others to find appetite control help the way I did. Best of luck to all of you who read this. :-)

I've tried hoodia and other things, but this stuff works, and I haven't had to take the recommended dose - which is 3 capsules each time you take it. I take one in the morning with my coffee and bagel, and that lasts me through the day - I eat normally, and then I take one in the late evening because I have problems with late evening eating. Now I'm getting through that time period just not feeling the desire to eat. For me it's more of an emotional pattern in the evening, than an actual hunger.

I haven't noticed any adverse effects, so for me this has been a good product. I'm hopeful I'll start to see some results, and with healthy

nutrition and daily exercise, I'll get in better shape and feel healthier.
